Main types of IC card models
IC cards are mainly divided into:Contact IC cardsAndContactless IC cardsThe main chip models of these two cards can be roughly classified into the following three types,
The first type is: CPU cards, also known as smart cards. The integrated circuit inside the card contains a microprocessor CPU, storage units (including RAM for random access, ROM (FLASH) for program memory, EEPROM for user data), and the chip operating system COS. A CPU card equipped with COS is equivalent to a microcomputer, not only providing data storage but also command processing and data security protection functions;
The second type is: logical encrypted memory cards, which add encryption logic circuits to non-encrypted memory cards. These logic uses password verification to protect the data inside the card from external access, but it only provides low-level security protection and cannot prevent malicious attacks.
The third type is: non-encrypted memory cards, where the integrated circuit chip inside is mainly EEPROM, which has data storage functions but lacks data processing and hardware encryption functions.
Based on the main model classifications of these three IC cards, I will list more specific chip models below.
