Issues to pay attention to when designing membership cards
Membership card design is a very important step. If mistakes occur during the design phase, it can mean one wrong step after another. So, what issues should be paid attention to when designing membership cards?
First, we know that membership cards can be enhanced with magnetic strips, hot stamping, raised codes, signature strips, and other techniques. All these processes need to be carefully designed during the design process to ensure smooth production.
1. Design the magnetic stripe on the membership card: Do not press the embossed code on the back magnetic card, otherwise the magnetic stripe will not be able to be swiped.
2. Design the inner frame dimensions of membership cards: 85.5mm*54mm, outer frame dimensions: 88.5mm*57mm, with card rounded corners at 12 degrees.
3. Design the membership card's small embossed font size 12 font, large embossed font size 18 font, which can be represented in bold font. The small and large embossed codes containing spaces can be up to 19 characters. Embossed codes can be gold-foiled or other gold and silver types, and special requests can be personalized with embossed designs.
4. The design distance between the probossed code and the card margin must be greater than 5mm; the inner edge (top and bottom) of the magnetic stripe spacing card should be 4mm, and the magnetic stripe width should be 12mm.
5. The correct draft for the membership card should be a Coreldraw file. After special effects have been converted to bitmaps, text, symbols, and patterns must be converted to curves.
6. The raised code design on the membership card should not press against the barcode on the back, otherwise barcode data cannot be read. Leave space for the barcode card based on the barcode model provided by the customer.
7. Design the color gradation of membership cards: ideally, the range is between 18% and 85%. If the highlights are below 18% or the dark areas are above 85%, the color gradient is poor.
8. The color mode for the membership card should be C, M, Y, K, with pure black text on both sides or a black background filled in K100, solid color blocks with white text, and white text with white borders.
9. The thickness of the lines on the design membership card must not be less than 0.12 mm; otherwise, the print will not be present.
10. The background pattern or background color of the membership card should not be set below 8% to avoid being displayed when printing.
