Types of smart cards used in parking lots
2013-04-16 · Types of smart cards used in parking lots
A typical parking lot consists of a card reader and a crossbar system. When a car enters from outside and presses the card reader, the card reader spits out a card. The moment the user holds this card, timing begins, and the car comes out to finish the timing, starting by the hourly fee. This completes one parking session.
So, what kind of chip is generally used in parking systems?
First: IC chip cards
These chips have large memory, record more information, and have faster sensing speeds, making them the preferred choice for parking systems, but they are more expensive.
Second: ID chip card
This chip can only store one number, has a slower sensing speed than IC chip cards, records less information, and is preferred by manufacturers who do not have high requirements for parking system equipment. It is slightly cheaper than IC cards.
