Yizhang will issue more than 200,000 social security cards

    To ensure a good transition for the original IC social security cards, Yizhang Prefecture plans to issue more than 200,000 new IC social security cards after discussion, mainly targeting those who have obtained pension social security cards.

    IC social security cards offer a qualitative improvement in security. Their chip mechanism includes three password verification checkpoints, ensuring security while retaining the same functions as the original card. More powerful features include bank deposits and withdrawals, transfers, and more. In essence, it is a welfare benefit card.

    The issuance of social security cards is divided into two stages. The first stage is tiered distribution. The County Social Security Card Service Center, County Urban and Rural Residents' Social Pension Insurance Center, and Yizhang Rural Commercial Bank will organize personnel to distribute the cards according to the order and schedule determined by the townships. After each administrative village collects the cards uniformly, within one month, the recipients will be notified to collect the cards with their ID cards and household registration books; Stage Two: Unfinished distribution, collected and distributed. One month after the card issuance period expires at the village committee (community), for unsuccessfully issued social security cards, the card and the "National Social Security Card Issuance and Receipt Register" must be submitted to the township labor protection station, which will issue cards for two months. After the issuance period expires, the unsuccessfully issued cards will be handed over to the local rural commercial bank, and the individual or the agent will be notified to collect directly from the rural commercial bank.

    Although the new social security card has been issued, the exact activation date will be announced separately. Before the official launch, the new card could not directly handle payments or pension withdrawals and other social security services, but it already had banking functions. The original card would still be used for monthly pension payments and withdrawals. Once activated, the social security function of the original card will be automatically canceled, and the pension will be paid monthly to the new card, but the financial service functions of the original card will remain intact. For those who have not yet received their social security cards, the originally issued "Hunan Social Security Card" can continue to be used, with a natural transition to the original card.
