Currently, Jingzhou has issued more than 2.27 million second-generation social security cards across the city, covering most residents. This lays a solid foundation for the replacement of hospital medical cards by the Jingzhou Social Security Card, which is managed uniformly under government leadership. Citizens of hospitals included in the program only need to hold the card to register, pick up medicine, and handle other matters.
It is understood that this second-generation social security card uses a CPU card similar to a bank card. Simply put, a CPU card chip contains a microprocessor inside, which functions like a microcomputer. The metal sheets on commonly used integrated circuit cards (IC cards) are CPU card chips. CPU cards can be used in finance, insurance, traffic police, government industries, and other fields. They feature large user space, fast reading speeds, and support for multiple uses with one card, and have passed certification by the People's Bank of China and the State Commercial Secretarial Administration. In terms of appearance, CPU cards are no different from ordinary IC cards or RF cards, but their performance has greatly improved. Compared to ordinary IC cards, their security is greatly enhanced. Typically, CPU cards contain random number generators, hardware DES, 3DES encryption algorithms, etc. When combined with operating systems (OS-on-chip, also called COS), they can achieve financial-grade security levels
To improve treatment efficiency, insured individuals holding their social security cards can directly register for appointments, pay bills, and settle payments at designated hospitals using the Yinyi Social Security Pass self-service terminal device, without needing to buy a medical card or queue to pay at the hospital.
Currently, nearly 50 Yinyi Social Security Pass self-service machines have been installed in the outpatient halls and inpatient departments of the Central Hospital, the Municipal Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, and other locations, with interface data testing underway, aiming to launch within this year.
