1. System Introduction
With the acceleration of economic globalization and the growing recognition of the importance of modern logistics for economic development, China's logistics industry is currently in a period of rapid growth. In future market competition, competition in enterprise supply chains will be decisive.
The socialization and specialization of production have led more and more companies to outsource logistics and supply chain management (SCM) functions to specialized logistics companies, thereby reducing costs and reducing inventory. This trend brings great opportunities to traditional logistics enterprises in China, but also presents challenges---- Only by maximizing customer demand for logistics services and minimizing logistics costs can companies gain trust and profits, and seize business opportunities.
Therefore, traditional logistics enterprises such as port terminals, freight companies, storage and transportation companies, freight forwarders, logistics departments of manufacturing enterprises, and new third-party logistics companies can only update their mindset and fully utilize modern logistics technologies to achieve their business goals.
Accuracy and timeliness of information are key to supply chain and logistics management, which is precisely the most prominent advantage of RFID technology. Goods are labeled with RFID labels, so without opening the outer packaging, the system can identify them in boxes and packages, enabling accurate real-time access to relevant product information such as type, carrier, origin point, destination, transportation links, and so on. RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) systems can monitor all stages of goods in real time, from raw materials, semi-finished products, finished products, transportation, warehousing, distribution, shelving, final sales, to even return processing.
This not only greatly increases automation, but also significantly reduces error rates, thereby significantly enhancing supply chain transparency and management efficiency; The application of RFID in the logistics industry helps companies reduce costs and gain a competitive edge. Smooth information flow helps control and reduce inventory, and lowers costs (including labor costs). RFID logistics management systems enable logistics companies to manage warehousing, sorting, distribution, and transportation of goods more efficiently, accurately, and scientifically.
2. System characteristics
RFID's wireless instant long-distance reading method, large capacity and high-speed data processing capabilities, and high degree of automation give it irreplaceable technological advantages;
Data on goods, trucks, etc. can be checked and managed in real time via the Internet; Virtual inventory tracking; The system is easy to install and maintain; Data acquisition is efficient and accurate; The system tracks all logistics links in real time, including people, goods, pallets, forklifts, and trucks; All links and processes in logistics are monitored in real time.
3. System Composition
Reader: This system uses a UHF 915MHz reader, which is a fixed installment reader and a handheld reader. The reader senses the tag via an antenna and reads the data inside the tag. Fixed readers can read labels within eight meters, while handheld readers have a reading distance of about 1 meter. (See the image below)
Labels: Labels come in various styles, such as card-style and credit card sizes, installed on trucks, containers, pallets, goods, and parcels. Labels come in various packaging forms to choose according to your needs. Each tag has a globally unique ID number. In practical applications, it is assigned information about the object or goods being installed, enabling identification, reading, and recycling. Tags can be easily attached and installed on objects to be identified. (See below)
Management software: After the reader acquires a large amount of tag data, it can directly connect to the ports of computers, handheld computers, or laptops, automatically and instantly enter it into the system database, and management software manages it. The management software is web-based, meaning that on any internet computer worldwide, managers or users can inspect and manage goods in real time, and know the location of trucks. Information is uploaded to a standard Internet platform, allowing visualization of real-time end-to-end cargo movement.
