Double-Sided Tape for Automotive Emblems
Transparent PET double-sided tape with acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive and a red release liner, approximately 0.205 mm thick, provides high transparency, lasting adhesion, toughness and tensile strength for automotive emblems, badges, ABS parts and decorative trim.

Product overview
This tape uses a transparent PET film as the dimensional carrier, with acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive coated evenly on both sides and a red release liner protecting the adhesive. At a reference total thickness of about 0.205 mm, the PET layer supplies flatness, tensile strength and dimensional stability, while the two adhesive layers create secure attachment between automotive emblems, lettering, ABS plastic parts, metal badges and decorative components. Its high transparency keeps the fixing area discreet around open lettering and visible edges. The material can be slit into rolls or precision die-cut to the outline, holes and assembly geometry of an emblem.
Product features
- The transparent PET carrier remains flat and dimensionally stable for automotive badges, nameplates and trim.
- Acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive on both sides provides strong initial tack and durable holding on suitable plastics, metals, wood and assembly materials.
- The reference total thickness is approximately 0.205 mm, balancing a slim appearance with useful bonding strength and limited gap compensation.
- High optical clarity makes the adhesive unobtrusive and helps preserve the appearance and legibility of emblems and nameplates.
- The PET film is tough, stretch-resistant and difficult to tear during positioning, lamination and assembly.
- The red release liner is easy to identify and supports clean slitting, die-cutting, handling and staged application.
- Roll slitting, cut lengths, kiss cutting, waste removal and custom die-cut shapes can be produced from drawings.
- Beyond vehicle emblems, the construction is suitable for metal and plastic badges, membrane switches, electronic equipment, appliance trim and industrial assembly.
- Performance depends on paint, plastic surface energy, curvature, dust, oil, wax, temperature and pressure, so representative parts should be tested.
Applications
- Automotive rear emblems, model lettering, displacement badges and exterior or interior trim.
- Bonding ABS, PC and other plastic vehicle components to metal, glass or coated surfaces.
- Mounting metal badges, plastic nameplates, equipment panels, membrane switches and appliance trim.
- Industrial production and repair requiring transparent fixation, stable dimensions and custom die-cut adhesive parts.
Procurement notes
For quotation, provide the emblem dimensions, outline drawing, substrate, bonding surface, required thickness, quantity, waste-removal requirements and packaging. Remove dust, oil, wax and moisture before application and keep the surface dry and flat. Apply even pressure to maximize contact. Curved, rough, low-surface-energy, waxed or mold-release-contaminated parts require sample testing. Before volume production, confirm initial tack, holding power, peel strength, heat and water resistance, weathering, residue and die-cut tolerance.
