National Library of China reader card

The National Library of China Reader Card is an important credential for entering the National Library of China. Its main function is to enter and exit the library gates, borrow books, return books, and perform a series of other operations. Without it, one cannot enter the library, so its importance goes without saying.

Precautions for using the National Library Reader Card
1. Readers must hold their card and pass through the card reader to enter the library. Only after confirming the card's validity can they enter the reading room. 

2. Each person may apply for one card with ID; proxy applications are not allowed.

 3. The reader card is for personal use only and cannot be lent or lent. 
4. Cardholders must comply with the National Library's borrowing rules and related regulations. If violated, our library reserves the right to suspend the card's use. 5. Do not disclose your card password at will; otherwise, all consequences will be the responsibility of the cardholder.

How to use the National Library Reader Card

1. Refund (deposit refund) method: When returning a function, you must return the borrowed books. After paying the penalty, you must return the deposit with your reader card and the deposit receipt; If someone else is refunding the deposit on their behalf, both the cardholder and the agent must present their ID documents; If a reader loses the deposit receipt, they must bring both the original and a copy of their ID card to apply; If someone else is handling the process and there is no deposit receipt to refund the deposit, both the cardholder and the agent must provide the original and a copy of their ID cards to handle the process.

2. Method for reporting lost reader cards and reissuance: If a reader card is lost, you can complete the loss reporting procedures. After reporting a loss, if the original reader card is found, present your ID to the document processing office to unreport, and continue using the original card; If the original reader card is not found, the applicant must present their ID to the certificate office to pay the processing fee and apply for a new card; the original card will be voided simultaneously.

3. Change password: Readers can log in to the National Library website:
www.nlc.gov.cn or log in to OPAC within the library, check the information of your reader card or change your borrowing password in the "User Information" section; You can use the reading room computer inside the library to log in to the "Guotu All-in-One Card Self-Service System" to modify your financial transaction password.

4. Once the reader card is issued, it generally does not need to be canceled and can be used long-term. If there are changes to reader personal information, simply bring your reader card, ID card, and related documents to the certificate processing office to update the information.
