Tamper-Evident Security Labels

Product overview

A tamper-evident security label uses a concealed message or pattern to show whether a package has been opened. A special release construction is formed on the reverse of the facestock and may carry VOID, OPENED, an opened-seal message or a customer-specific graphic. When the label is lifted from a package, document or product, the preset information separates cleanly from the label and remains on the application surface. Neither the removed label nor the transferred message can be restored to its original condition, leaving clear and irreversible evidence of access. PP, PE, PET and OPP materials can be selected to match the printing method, application surface and service environment, with white, matte-silver, bright-silver and colored finishes available.

Procurement notes

For quotation, provide label dimensions, shape, facestock, color, application surface, concealed message or graphic, printed content, operating temperature, adhesive requirement, quantity and roll or sheet format. Adhesion differs on plastics, cartons, metals, glass and coated surfaces, so an application sample or surface description is recommended. Custom security graphics require preparation of the release pattern. Before volume production, test samples should be evaluated for message transfer, completeness of the residual mark, bonding strength and irreversibility.
